Manchester United vs Aston Villa Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Manchester United will be aiming to continue their impressive run of Premier League results when they host Aston Villa on Friday night.

United currently sit second in the table with 30 points from 15 games and bet365 make them 8/11 (1.73) favourites to add another three to their tally on New Year’s Day.

Currently fifth, Villa have been this season’s surprise package after picking up eight victories from 14 games but are 16/5 (4.20) outsiders to win away from home for the sixth time this season.

The sides drew 2-2 at Old Trafford last season and another stalemate is available at 16/5 (4.20).

Victor Lindelof could return after missing the win over Wolves with a back injury, although he will still need to be assessed, whilst Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones remain out.

Tyrone Mings missed Villa’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea through suspension but is available for this one, with Ross Barkley also back after being ineligible for that clash. Wesley and Trezeguet are both injured.

After a feeble start to the season which saw United lose three and win two of their first six Premier League games, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his team go from strength-to-strength with seven wins and 22 goals to their name.

Although Rashford’s injury time goal did hand them the points, it was a fairly abject performance against a tired Wolves sideand that does not bode well ahead of a visit from a Villa team high in confidence.

Dean Smith’s men have kept six clean sheets this season, more than any other team, and have conceded only three goals away from Villa Park whilst winning five and losing only once on their travels.

Despite such a strong run, United’s home form has been very unspectacular - with the exception of a 6-2 win over Leeds United just before Christmas.

With that in mind, it could be worth taking the Evens (2.0) price from bet365 on Aston Villa/Draw double chance for this Premier League clash.
