Valencia vs Levante Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Valencia goal

Valencia welcome Levante to Mestalla on Friday evening for a cross-city derby on matchday 28 inLa Liga.

Los Che have won each of their last five home derbies and are clear favourites to record another success against a Levante side who are aiming to avoid arelegation battle.

Albert Celades' team are unbeaten at home in La Liga since April 2019 and bet365 price them at 7/10 (1.70) to claim three points.

Levante for their part lost their last five away matches before the season was suspended and are priced at 15/4 (4.75) to end that run with a victory, while the draw can be backed at 14/5 (3.80).

The hosts are without centre-back Ezequiel Garay who is injured and unlikely to feature again having fallen out publicly with the club.

His partner in the heart of the Valencia defence Gabriel Paulista is also a doubt after missing training with a muscle problem, while midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia is suspended.

Paco Lopez meanwhile has few injury concerns with Levante boasting a practically fully fit squad apart from defender Ivan Lopez who remains a long-term injury absentee.

Recent meetings between these two rivals have produced plenty of entertainment with the last four derbies seeing 18 goals scored.

Earlier this season Los Che came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia, and that result underlines the defensive deficiencies of both teams this term.

Levante have the fifth worst defensive record in La Liga and Valencia the sixth, and while Celades' men are seventh in the table and competing for a Champions League berth they have only kept six clean sheets in 27 league games.

On the road, Paco Lopez's team have conceded 28 goals in 14 matches (only Mallorca have conceded more) and defensively neither side is likely to be particularly solid in Friday night's Valencia derby.

At the other end of the pitch however both outfits can generally be relied upon to find the back of the net, with Valencia scoring in their last 15 home league games and Levante netting in nine of their last 13 on the road.

Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score is offered at 9/10 (1.90) and looks a solid selection, having paid out in the last four meetings between these sides.
